Hello new friend!   I can’t wait to share with you about topics dear to my heart.

I’m Pam; wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend.  Most importantly, I am a child of God’s and serving Him is my greatest passion.  With the Lord’s blessing and guidance, it is my desire to share ideas on this blog that will simplify our lives so that we have more time to focus on what is truly important.

I prayed and asked the Lord for a simpler life.  He answered.  Two years ago, my husband and I decided that I would take early retirement and move to the state where we have both always wanted to live – FLORIDA.  We love it here!  I love walking outside knowing that I won’t need to wrap up in a heavy coat, gloves, and a scarf (I spent my early years in Michigan and then the majority of my years in Virginia – so I have experienced some cold weather!)

As I considered taking early retirement and the implications of that decision, I felt the Lord leading me to use a blog to share with others.  It has taken me quite some time to get past the fear of starting a blog and the chaos in my thoughts so I could begin to focus on what to share.

If you:

  •  Love the Lord and desire to study His Word
  •  Desire to have a stronger prayer life
  •  Want to live a healthier life
  •  Love ideas for simplifying your life
  •  Love crafting, sewing and/or DIY projects
  •  Live far away from some of your family and friends, but want to feel connected
  •  Desire to serve and care for others
  •  Like to save money or earn a little extra money,

then I know we are going to have a wonderful time.  Those are the topics I plan to share about and I hope you will comment with your ideas and thoughts as well.

My journey with Bible Study and Prayer has been a long one and oftentimes, I am ashamed to say, minimal or almost non-existent.  Yet, knowing my Savior better, and serving Him, are truly my greatest desires.  I hope you’ll join me as I share ideas on our quiet time with the Lord.

Simple means different things to different people, but for me it includes living a life that includes many more natural things rather than toxic things.  I want to remove as many chemicals from our lives as possible.   That part of my simple has just begun.  I’ll be sharing in this blog, my experience with essential oils and other more natural things.

I have found that I am most happiest when I have a creative outlet.  I use to sew and make crafts a lot, but haven’t had much time for that in the past 15 years or so.  Recently I made several baby blankets and burp cloths for gifts.  It was an awesome reminder of how much I love making gifts for others.  My husband bought me a sewing machine a few years ago and a Cricut last year.  It’s time for me to start using them and letting some of this creativity out.  I’ll be sharing some of the fun along the way.

One of my biggest challenges now is the connection with my family.  They are all in another state and I often feel so distant.  I have plans for improving this connection so that even from afar my life can still have a positive impact on those I love.

It has always been a struggle for me (a strong introvert) to show that I care for others who may be going through difficulties.  I intend to improve on this and will be accountable by sharing with you some ways that we can care and serve others.

There are thrift shops around every corner and yard sales galore all year round.  I love a great deal, but I truly don’t need any more stuff. So, I’m trying my hand at upcycling some fun finds.   Early retirement has required a renewed focus on frugality, especially since everything is more expensive here.  I love finding new ways to save (or make) money. I’ll be sharing some saving/making money ideas with you.

That’s all about me in a nutshell.  I am so looking forward to sharing with you on these topics and then listening to your thoughts and ideas as well.
