God is Faithful
I will sing of the mercies of the Lord for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations. Psalm 89:1

I listened as my friend shared her worries. She needed to find a new job and quickly. Her current employer had sold the Company and they were letting 80% of the current employees go within 30 days. That included my friend.
As a single woman, she simply couldn’t afford to be without a job. How would she make her car payment, pay the rent, buy food, etc.? We prayed about her finding a new job. There just weren’t many job opportunities in her area.
As the thirty days began to come to an end, her concern increased. Time was running out. Then, the perfect job, in her field and near her home, became available. It was a nice job, a great opportunity, and there were several qualified applicants.
Along with our small prayer group members, we prayed specifically that my friend would get that exact job. We didn’t pray that she get any job, we prayed that she get that specific job. And she did! God was faithful in answering our prayers. He provided the job that my friend needed and just exactly when she needed it.
God answers our Prayers
We can rest assured that God will give us what we need and He will answer our prayers. He always does.
Sometimes it takes us a while to see the answer to our prayers, but we can be confident that God is faithful and He will answer them in His time and in the best possible way.
What does it mean to be faithful?
It means that someone is loyal, constant and steadfast. If someone is faithful then they can be trusted to do what they have said they will do.
Being faithful is an important aspect of God’s character. We can rest assured that God will keep His Word. He is reliable.
For God to not be faithful would be to violate His very nature. And we know He cannot and will not do that.
God proves He is faithful to us all the time. We can be sure that He will keep His promises.

God is faithful
We can:
- Believe His Word
- Know that He will keep His Promises
- Know that He is with us; He won’t leave us
- Be confident that He will forgive our sins
- Be confident of eternal life with Him in Heaven (if we have accepted Him as our Savior)
Take a few minutes to think about ways in which God has been faithful to you:
- Has He continued to provide for you? (food, clothing, a roof over your head)
- Has He continued to guide you? (spouse, job, church)
- Has He kept you and your family safe?
- Have you seen Him answer your prayers?
Let’s share with others how God is faithful to us. I love the definition of testify. It means to give evidence or proof. Let’s go out and testify about God’s faithfulness.
Tell someone today how faithful God has been to you.
Listening to music as we begin or end our devotional time can be uplifting. Here is a wonderful rendition of Great is Thy Faithfulness sung by the Anthem Lights Band.
